Evesham man one of two fatalities in single-vehicle crash in Waterford Township

Eric Cournoyer, a 30-year-old resident of Evesham Township, was determined to be deceased on the scene.

The following information is on file with the Waterford Township Police Department:

Eric Cournoyer, a 30-year-old resident of Evesham Township, is one of two fatalities as a result of a vehicle crash in Waterford Township.

On Thursday, Jan. 3, at 7:44 p.m., members of the Waterford Township Police Department were dispatched to the area of 670 Jackson Road for the report of a single car motor vehicle crash.

Police say the initial investigation indicates the vehicle was traveling on Ellwood Avenue towards Jackson Road.

Police say the vehicle then failed to stop at the intersection of Jackson Road and Richards Avenue, crossing into the yard of a property of Jackson Road, where it struck a parked vehicle in the driveway.

The vehicle then came to rest in a wooded area on the property.

Officers say two males were ejected from the vehicle during the crash, and it was determined they were deceased on location.

The two males were identified as Cournoyer and 31-year-old Thomas Bessetti Jr. of Atco.

The accident is still under investigation by the Waterford Township Police Department and the Camden County Prosecutors Office.
