Pedestrian struck by car in Gloucester Township

Last night, the GTPD responded to the area of College Drive and Erial Road where a driver struck a pedestrian who suffered a head injury. The incident is under investigation.

The following is a release by the Gloucester Township Police Department:

On Thursday, Dec. 20 at approximately 4:56 p.m., Gloucester Township Police were dispatched to the area of College Drive and Erial Road for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle with a head injury. The driver of the vehicle remained with the pedestrian until GT Police arrived on location and found the victim conscious, however exhibiting serious injuries.

Lambs Terrace and Chews Landing Fire Departments responded along with Gloucester Township EMS to assist with providing on scene medical care and stabilizing the victim. The victim was then transported to Cooper Hospital for further evaluation and treatment and is reportedly in stable condition.

This crash is being investigated by the Gloucester Township Police Department’s Serious Crash Investigation Team (SCIT). Erial Road and a Portion of College Drive were closed for approximately two hours during the initial phases of the investigation yesterday afternoon. The driver and pedestrian information is not being released at this time pending further investigation.
