FBSJ’s Turkey Drop hopes to receive enough turkeys for families in need
The Food Bank of South Jersey is asking the local community to spread holiday joy this Thanksgiving by donating frozen turkeys and other fixings at its Turkey Drop on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 8 a.m. to noon. The Turkey Drop will take place at the FBSJ, 1501 John Tipton Blvd., Pennsauken.
“The holidays can be a difficult time for food-insecure families, who just want to be able to celebrate with a nice meal,” said Lavinia Awosanya, Director of Strategic Partnerships, Food Bank of South Jersey. “We are asking our friends, neighbors and local community to embrace the spirit of the season and help us provide a Thanksgiving feast to these families.”
Help the Food Bank reach its goal of collecting 13,000 turkeys in the following ways:
- Donate Turkeys — Stop by the Food Bank of South Jersey at the Turkey Drop on Nov. 17 from 8 a.m. to noon and donate a frozen turkey or two to help give food-insecure residents of South Jersey the gift of a Thanksgiving meal.
- Donate Funds — Donate to the Turkey Fund! The Food Bank of South Jersey will use the fund to purchase turkeys to provide to families in South Jersey, so they can enjoy a special Thanksgiving dinner. Donations can be made online.
