The Haddon Fortnightly to hold next general meeting on Friday

Clubhouse date for venerable local society scheduled for Nov. 16

The November meeting of The General Club of The Haddon Fortnightly will be held on Friday, Nov. 16 at 1:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at The Haddon Fortnightly Clubhouse, 301 Kings Highway East.

The program for the meeting will be a presentation by Michael Schaefer, Volunteer Recruiter/Trainer for Court Appointed Special Advocates of New Jersey (CASA). CASA provides training for volunteers to serve as advocates for children removed from their families because of abuse or neglect.

These trained volunteers are appointed by judges to watch over and advocate for abused or neglected children to make sure they do not get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system. CASA is this year’s “state project” supported by the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs, of which The Haddon Fortnightly is a member.

Light refreshments will be served following the presentation. The Haddon Fortnightly is a civic and social club for women; the meeting is free and all are welcome to attend. For more information, contact Patricia Underwood, president, at (856) 429–9123 or by email at [email protected].
