Rotary invites community to help them feed the hungry

On Monday, Nov. 19th from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., the Moorestown Rotary will make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to feed the hungry in Camden.

Join the Moorestown Rotary on Monday, Nov. 19th from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. as they make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to feed the hungry in Camden. They will be in the ballroom at the Community House. Everyone is welcome; kids too.

If you can’t make it that day but still want to help, please donate bread, peanut butter, jelly, waxed paper or brown paper lunch bags on Nov. 17 and Nov. 18. Supplies can be dropped off in bins at 601 Kings Highway, Unit 3.

This initiative was started by the AMP (“Alternate Meeting Program”) Rotary Evening Group and is in partnership with Virtua. The sandwiches will be distributed the following day at Virtua Camden, as part of their Mobile Farmer’s Market Program.

“We want the community at large to join Rotarians for this fun, hands-on activity,” said Michelle Rohan, Director of Membership for the AMP Rotary Evening Group. “Many people still don’t know what the Rotary does, and this is an excellent way for them to find out while servicing a neighboring city that has great need.”

Last spring, the small but dedicated group met at a member’s home and assembled 150 sandwiches for The Unforgotten Haven.Their goal for this event is 1,500.
