Gloucester Township Police Department joins in on No Shave November

Officers will volunteer to grow their facial hair and make donations to cancer research. Members of the public can donate as well.

From Nov. 1 through Nov. 30 the Gloucester Township Police Department, in collaboration with Gloucester Township FOP Lodge 206, will be conducting a fundraiser for No Shave November, or known nationally as “Movember”.

No Shave November is a campaign held annually throughout the month of November to raise money and awareness for men’s health such as prostate cancer, testicular and men’s suicide.

During the month of November, participants forgo shaving in order to evoke conversation regarding cancer and raise money for cancer research, education, and prevention.That money goes to various organizations such as but not limited to the American Cancer Society, St. Judas Children’s Hospital, and Prevent Cancer Foundation.

In order for officers to participate they are required to donate $25.00. Participants are encouraged to solicit friends and family to donate to the cause by going to the No Shave November link. The Gloucester Township Police Department is proud to participate in this worthwhile cause. We will be sure to keep residents posted on the beard progress on social media.
