Cherry Hill native’s family to tell inspirational story at Katz JCC on Dec. 4

Scott and Pammy Kramer will talk about the story of their daughter, Maddie and her battle with cancer at the event.

On Tuesday, Dec. 4, the community is invited to join Scott and Pammy Kramer as they share the heartfelt and inspirational story of their daughter, Maddie, and her battle with cancer as told in Scott’s book, “Maddie’s Miracles: A Book of Life.” Pammy, a Cherry Hill native, along with her husband Scott, have been deeply supported by the South Jersey Jewish community and their commitment to finding a cure for childhood cancer.

In April 2017, Scott opened his laptop with the intent of keeping family and friends updated on the condition of their two-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Maddie, who just days prior, had undergone emergency surgery to remove a rare, cancerous tumor from her spinal cord. Her battle continued with an aggressive treatment protocol that would have been taxing on even the strongest of adults. With Maddie as the perpetual force of positivity, Scott continued to document her miraculous journey and factual updates quickly transformed into a series of inspiring and unforgettable vignettes. Anyone following Maddie’s story began to realize that the daily doses of joy she dropped upon her loved ones were not fleeting tales of a fighting toddler.

This event is made possible due to the generous sponsorship of Emily and Milt Gottschalk, trustees of the Mildred M. Soefer Family Foundation, and in cooperation with the American Cancer Society.

“We are honored to bring Maddie’s story back to our local community. She represents a beacon of hope for every family ever touched by cancer,” said Emily Gottschalk. “Pammy and Scott Kramer remind us of the fragility and impact each life holds, as they bring inspiration, hope and a call to action for all of us to follow.”

Attendees are encouraged to give back by bringing a gift for a child who is currently in the hospital, or make a donation to Dancing While Cancering: The Maddie Kramer Foundation.

General admission for Maddie’s Miracles is $12 for JCC members, $15 for guests and includes the cost of the book. A portion of the event proceeds will be donated to Dancing While Cancering: The Maddie Kramer Foundation. For more information or to register online, visit katzjcc.org/maddies-miracles.
