Medford Leas Arboretum to be explored at next Horticultural Society meeting

The organization’s next meeting will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m. at the Carman Tilelli Community Center in Cherry Hill.

“The Barton Arboretum and Nature Preserve of Medford Leas.” Will be the presentation at the next Horticultural Society of South Jersey meeting. The meeting will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m. at the Carman Tilelli Community Center in Cherry Hill.

The more than 250 acres of the Medford and Lumberton campuses of Medford Leas are officially designated as The Barton Arboretum and Nature Preserve of Medford Leas. The Arboretum represents a unique blend of accessible public gardens, collections, and preserved natural areas, set amidst private residential space, and features one of the most extensive plant collections — including natives — in all southern New Jersey. Through its programing for the public, the Arboretum promotes horticultural knowledge and emphasizes the importance of integrating nature into people’s living, working, and recreational environments. Further, it models good land stewardship and ecological responsibility through its bio-diverse and sustainable practices. The presentation will be done by Jane Watson, director of development and community relations at Medford Leas.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit www.hssj.org or call (856) 287–5959.
