Solidarity at interfaith service at Evesham’s Congregation Beth Tikvah after Pittsburgh attack

“We will say, ’Not here.’ Not in Evesham Township, not in our town, not in New Jersey, and not in these United States of America.” Those were the words of Congregation Beth Tikvah’s Rabbi Nathan Weiner as he welcomed hundreds to an interfaith service of solidarity held Tuesday at his synagogue. The evening was mostly filled with prayer, songs and messages of tolerance, all led by various religious leaders of different faiths from the Evesham community and greater area.

Cherokee High School teacher arrested on charges for alleged sexual activity with student

The following information is on file with the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office:

Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina announced that Brantley Cesanek, 30, of Haddon Township in Camden County, has been charged with multiple counts of sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child and official misconduct for allegedly sexually assaulting one of his students at when she was between the ages of 16 to 17. Cesanek is a Latin teacher at Cherokee High School. Read more here.

Cherokee High School’s Thanksgiving Day football game moved to Nov. 8

According to www.olympicconference.org, the varsity football game between Cherokee High School and Seneca High School originally scheduled for 11 a.m. on Nov. 22 –Thanksgiving Day — has been rescheduled. Now, the game is set for 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8.

Evesham Township voters head to the polls for these races on Nov. 6

Residents of Evesham Township can vote in races for mayor of Evesham, Evesham Township Council, Evesham Township School District Board of Education, Burlington County Clerk, Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders, United States House of Representatives and United States Senate. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
