Letter to the Editor: Elected officials sacrifice their time for the community

Mayor Michael Mignogna pens in this letter to the editor why he believes Nocito and Ravitz make exceptional committee members

It’s easy to criticize but it’s difficult to govern.

What makes a good elected committee member? It takes a sincere willingness to give one’s time for the sake of their community. Elected officials could be spending time either with their families or at work. Very few choose to spend that time building a better and safer community for others. It says a lot about a person who is willing to put in the long hours and take the criticism that sometimes comes with making tough governmental decisions. Very few people are willing to commit to such an endeavor.

Both Michelle Nocito and Jason Ravitz believe investing their time to better our community is worth it and are willing to meet those challenges head-on. They understand there may be controversy from time to time, but are willing to lead and do the hard work necessary to move Voorhees forward and keep our community safe.

Both Michelle and Jason understand how to manage a budget and balance smart spending with necessary reductions. Two of their three years on Township Committee resulted in no increase in the local purpose tax.

Please join me in supporting Michelle Nocito and Jason Ravitz for Voorhees Township Committee. They are willing to take on any challenge to help continue to make Voorhees a great place in which to live and work.

Michael Mignogna

Mayor of Voorhees Township
