Operation: Tarp the Panhandle

The following comes from the Mullica Hill Rotary

Local Rotary club members under Operation: Tarp the Panhandle will be traveling to the Florida Panhandle to potentially train hundreds of other Rotary teams to tarp structurally sound homes and trailers.

Rotary District 7505 covering Central and South Jersey is challenging all Rotary Districts east of the Mississippi and south of Canada to send at least three teams to collect specialized donations, travel to the Florida Panhandle and receive training to tarp homes that are missing some or all their shingles.

This unprecedented campaign will begin to bring stability to hundreds of families whose lives have been thrown into chaos as a result of Hurricane Michael. Many of these families are still living in those rain-soaked homes and trailers.

These Rotarians need donations either in cash or actual supplies like tarps (20 feet by 40 feet, or larger), eight-foot furring strips, plywood, specialized hardware, box fans, sanitizing wipes, baby food, canned food, diapers for young and old and feminine hygiene products.

District 7505 is working closely with the Rotary District in the Florida Panhandle. This is the official launch of this unprecedented campaign and teams will start traveling to the Panhandle on Nov. 4 and will continue until Christmas Day.

Visit the district’s website at www.RotaryDistrict7505.org to donate money or see the drop off sites to deliver supplies or to receive Amazon orders. Pick-up arrangements can be made for wood donations.
