Temple Beth Sholom announces presentation on Jewish Superstitions and Folklore

Tikvah Chapter of Camden County Hadassah joins Hazak as a co-sponsor of event on Dec. 20 led by Chaim Lauer

Some Jewish practices and traditions are learned from the Torah or the Talmud, or from rabbis and teachers, some even from our grandmothers. What are you talking about? And where did they learn them from? We will explore the origins of Bubbe Meises, their meanings, sources, and origins, and until then, don’t sit by the window. You’ll catch a cold.

On Thursday, Dec. 20 at 1 p.m., Chaim Lauer will present “Bubbe Meises: Jewish Superstitions and Folklore.” Lauer is an educator, speaker, and writer, with over thirty years as a Jewish Communal professional, and is happy to share his wide range of interests with equally curious audiences.

Everyone is welcome at Hazak meetings. Refreshments will be served. Guests pay a $10 fee, Members are free. For any questions, please contact Zelda Greenberg at (856) 912–7317. For further information check out www.tbsonline.org/hazak
