Students and staff were sheltering in place on Thursday afternoon as police conducted an investigation on the rumor.
Cherry Hill Police are investigating a report about a possible weapon inside of Cherry Hill High School West.
A video from Cherry Hill Public Schools Superintendent Joe Meloche posted to the Cherry Hill West YouTube account confirmed the district, campus police and police department are investigating a rumor about a weapon in the school.

In the video, Meloche said no violence or any type of event took place at the school. Students were in a shelter in place at about 2 p.m. and dismissal was expected to take place as scheduled at 2:30 p.m.
