The following comes from Raines Dental.
Raines Dental, a full service dental practice in Mullica Hill, kicks off Pink Wednesdays, a month-long effort in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month for the second year in a row.
Throughout October, Raines Dental will donate a portion of fees from non-preventative dentist appointments on Wednesdays to create Chemo Care Bags for those fighting breast cancer.
The practice is also encouraging patients to support and share in this effort to help women diagnosed with breast cancer by accepting donations at the office every day of the week. Those who contribute will be recognized with a “Pink Tooth” and entered into a raffle supported by other local businesses. At the end of October, the bags will be hand-filled with lotions, candies, magazines, anti-nausea medications and other items that bring comfort to those getting chemotherapy treatments. Dr. Jason Raines and his staff will personally deliver donations to the Penn Medicine Abramson Cancer Center in Philadelphia.
“Last year was such a rewarding success that we couldn’t wait to support this effort once again,” said Raines. “This year we decided to make it a bit more personal by creating Chemo Care Bags for those actually in the fight.”
Pink Wednesdays is only one of the efforts Raines implemented or supported to help those in need. Other programs have included Access to Care as an Albert Schweitzer Fellow, Give Kids a Smile, Dentistry From the Heart and “Take Mom to the Dentist” this past May.
