The following information is on file with the Mt. Laurel Township Police Department:
On Sept. 22 at 2:21 p.m., officials with the Mt. Laurel Township Police Department say a Mt. Laurel resident came into police headquarters to report an incident of check fraud.
According to police, the victim reported that she recently created a modeling portfolio on a webpage called onemodelplace.com.
In early August, police say she was contacted by an agency called rockcandy.com and was offered $500 to complete a modeling shoot with a photographer.
However, police say the victim received a check in the amount of $4,500 and was instructed to send $4,000 to a modeling manager.
With those instruction, on Aug. 13, police say the victim withdrew $4,000 from her checking/debit account.
According to police, she sent the requested $4,000 in cash via USPS to an unknown address.
However, on Aug. 14, police say the victim’s bank notified the victim that the check she deposited was fraudulent.

On Sept. 25 at 7:21 p.m., patrols responded to the Shop Rite on the 1000 block of Nixon Drive for a shoplifting. Loss prevention reports that they observed a 20-year-old male from Voorhees shoplifting merchandise in the store. When the individual left the store, loss prevention attempted to detain him, at which time he pushed the loss prevention employee in an attempt to flee. The individual was arrested and also found to be in possession of a crack pipe. He was charged with shoplifting, robbery and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was committed to the Burlington County Jail pending a future court hearing.
On Sept. 25 at 4:56 p.m., patrols responded to Walmart on the 900 block of Route 73 for a shoplifting. Loss prevention reported that a 38-year-old female from Philadelphia attempted to shoplift $41.91 worth of store merchandise and leave the store. The individual was arrested and charged on a summons with shoplifting. She was committed to the Burlington County Jail for an outstanding warrant issued by the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department.
On Sept. 24 at 8:12 p.m., patrols responded to Shop Rite on the 100 block of Ark Road for an employee theft. Loss prevention employees reported that between Sept. 13 and Sept. 24, an 18-year-old female from Mt. Holly was stealing the money. The individual admitted the theft and returned part of the stolen money. She was arrested, charged with theft and released on a summons pending a future court date.
On Sept. 24 at 6:05 p.m., patrols responded to a residence on Pine Cove for a burglary report. The victim reported that sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., an unknown individual entered her apartment and stole jewelry.
On Sept. 24 at 4:30 p.m., patrols responded to the Wyndham Hotel on the 1100 block of Route 73 for a theft report. The victim reports that after she checked out of her hotel room she realized that she left her Pandora bracelet in the room. When she went back to retrieve the bracelet, it was gone.
On Sept. 24 at 1:10 p.m., patrols responded to the area of the basketball courts on Sternlight Drive for a fight. The investigation revealed that two males engaged in a physical altercation at the basketball courts.
On Sept. 22 at 11:43 p.m., patrols conducted a motor vehicle stop on Church Road in the area of Route 73 for motor vehicle violations. During the stop investigation, it was determined that a 37-year-old male driver from Nazareth, Pa. was in possession of methamphetamine and straws used to consume drugs. He was subsequently arrested and charged on a summons with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was turned over to Maple Shade Police for outstanding traffic warrants.
On Sept. 22 at 3:39 p.m., patrols responded to the area of the pond between Holly Cove and Pine Cove for a CDS complaint. Officers made contact with two 18-year-old females from Lawrenceville who were in possession of a smoking bong with burning marijuana. Each were subsequently arrested and charged on a summons with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were processed and released pending a future court date.
On Sept. 22 at 7:43 a.m., patrols responded to a car dealership on the 1200 block of Route 73 for a theft report. Employees stated that sometime during the overnight hours of Sept. 21 to Sept. 22, an unknown invidual stole wheels and tires off three vehicles on their lot.
On Sept. 22 at 4:34 a.m., patrols responded to the area of Church Road and Clover Road for the report of a motor vehicle crash. The investigation revealed that a 28-year-old female driver from Maple Shade fell asleep while traveling west on Church Road. She then veered off the road, struck a light pole and then a box truck parked in the parking lot of the Rodeway Inn. Further investigation determined that the driver was under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently arrested. She was processed and charged on a summons with DWI and other motor vehicle violations. She was released pending a future court date.
On Sept. 21 at 12:53 p.m., patrols responded to Lifetime Fitness on the 3900 block of Church Road for a report of a theft from a locker. The victim reported that sometime between 12 and 12:40 p.m., an unknown individual stole his backpack out of his unsecure locker.
On Sept. 21 at 12:16 p.m., patrols responded to a parking lot on the 4100 block of Church Road for a report of a male consuming alcohol in his vehicle. Officers located an 85-year-old male from Philadelphia driving through the parking lot, at which time they conducted a motor vehicle stop. The investigation led to the arrest of the male for DWI. He was processed and charged with DWI on a summons and released pending a future court date.
On Sept. 20 at 8:16 p.m., patrols responded to a residence on Tara Drive for a report of a theft from a motor vehicle. The victim reported that sometime between 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 19 and 8:15 p.m. on Sept. 20 an unknown individual entered his unlocked vehicle and stole money.
A vehicle that was reported stolen on April 3 from a residence on the 300 block of Laurel Lane was recovered by U.S. Customs Border Protection Agency on a dock in Baltimore Maryland. The vehicle was to be exported overseas.
On Sept. 20 at 11:30 a.m., patrols responded to the area of the 200 block of Ralston Drive to look for a vehicle that was involved in a crash in Pennsauken. The vehicle was located by patrols that observed a hypodermic syringe in the vehicle. A 29-year-old male driver from Mt. Laurel was also located and admitted that the syringe was his. He also had a crack pipe in his possession. He was subsequently arrested and charged on a summons with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a syringe.
On Sept. 20 at 1:10 a.m., patrols responded to Millers Ale House at 554 Fellowship Road for a report of a fight. The investigation revealed that two males engaged in a mutual fight after one of the males made what was believed to be a derogatory comment to an employee.
On Sept. 19 at 9:26 p.m. patrols conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 in the area of Clover Road. During the stop, investigation determined that the 44-year-old male from Clifton Heights, Pa. had multiple traffic warrants. The male was arrested for the warrants. It was also determined that the individual had in his possession crack cocaine, heroin and a smoking pipe. He was charged with possession of heroin, possession of crack cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was committed to the Burlington County Jail pending a future court date.
On Sept. 19 at 8:12 p.m., patrols responded to the Home Depot at 1200 Nixon Drive for a shoplifting complaint. The investigation revealed that loss prevention employees were following suspects through the store who ultimately shoplifted various items and attempted to leave the store. When confronted by employees after leaving the store, the suspects left the merchandise in a cart and fled the area in a small white hatchback.
On Sept. 19. at 4:19 p.m., patrols responded to the Burlington Store at 70 Centerton Road for a shoplifting complaint. Store staff reported that a white female entered the store and stole a suitcase. The female left the store prior to patrols arrival.
On Sept. 18 at 10:41 p.m., patrols responded to Walmart at 934 Route 73 for a report of a shoplifting. Patrols arrived and arrested a 27-year-old and-28-year-old female from Philadelphia for shoplifting. Each were reported to be in a self-scan isle and intentionally did not scan all of their merchandise before attempting to leave the store. They were both arrested and charged with shoplifting.
On Sept. 18 at 9:52 p.m., patrols responded to RCBC at 500 College Circle for a report of a criminal mischief. The victim reported that sometime between 8 and 9:50 p.m. an unknown suspect slashed three tires on her vehicle.
On Sept. 17 at 12:31 p.m., patrols responded to Rowan College at Burlington County at 900 College Circle for a report of a fight. The investigation revealed that two students engaged in a mutual fight in a classroom. A 19-year-old male from Mt. Laurel was determined by staff to be the aggressor in the altercation. Complaints and disciplinary action by the school are pending.
