H.O.P.E. offering support sessions to grieving spouses

A donation of $35 is asked, however no one is turned away due to low or no funds.

The nonprofit organization seeks to build a support group around those grieving the loss of a spouse.

The Pitman chapter of the Helping Other People Evolve (H.O.P.E.) will be hosting its first of ten sessions on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at Pitman United Methodist Church at 7:00 p.m. for those who have lost loved ones and are seeking grievance support.

H.O.P.E. is a nonprofit providing grief support for surviving spouses across New Jersey.

It is highly suggested to attend all ten sessions in a row because it is an integrated program that allows people to bond easily to one another. Meeting dates and topics are as followed:

· Oct. 3: Examination of the Grief Process.

· Oct. 10: The Four T’s — Tears, Talk, Touch and Time

· Oct. 17: Healing and Growth

· Oct. 24: Practical Ways to Reduce Tension and Stress

· Oct. 31: Holiday Blues — How to Face the Festive Season

· Nov. 7: Personal Independence

· Nov. 14: Guest Speaker — To be Announced

· Nov. 28: Leaving Loneliness Behind

· Dec. 5: Taking Charge

· Dec. 12: Moving Ahead — Ten Steps to a New Life

Those wishing to attend the sessions are asked to pay a $35 donation, if you can afford it. Registration is required. Call (856) 234–2200 for more information or visit www.HopesNJ.org.
