Three men arrested for stealing woman’s purse at Garden State Park Marketplace

The three men were caught after an alert witness provided to license plate of their vehicle to police.

A tip from an alert witness allowed police to arrest three men from Pennsauken who allegedly stole a purse from a woman at the Garden State Park shopping center on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, Sept. 4, at approximately 5:39 p.m., a woman who had been walking in the Marketplace Shopping Center in the area of 911 Haddonfield Rd. was approached by two males who forcibly stole her purse and fled. As the victim yelled for help an alert witness observed the males running from the scene and entering a waiting vehicle. The witness was able to provide the license plate of this vehicle to responding officers.

Detectives were later able to locate the vehicle in Pennsauken and conduct a car stop with the assistance of Pennsauken Police Department. The investigation revealed the three occupants of the vehicle were responsible for the robbery and the stolen property was recovered. The three men, aged 18, 19 and 33 from Pennsauken, were charged with robbery and conspiracy and remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing.
