Korean War veteran and longtime rug dealer died Aug. 22
Kohran ‘Harry’ Hovsepian, 89, of Haddonfield, died Aug. 22. He was the beloved husband of Mary (nee Wojtkowiak), dear brother of the late Jack, and cherished uncle of the late Christopher. Harry will be deeply missed by his loyal companions Ginger, Cupcake and Muffin, as well as by his many friends and business acquaintances.
Harry will be remembered as a longtime owner of the oriental rug department at Strawbridge & Clothier based in Philadelphia and D.H. Holmes in New Orleans. Harry spent most of his life supplying beautiful handmade rugs from around the world to residents of the Delaware Valley and New Orleans. Harry was very proud of his army infantry service in the Korean War earning several honors including the Purple Heart. He was a devoted, active member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Friends are invited to Harry’s viewing on Thursday, Aug. 30th at 10 a.m. at St. Gregory Armenian Church, located at 8701 Ridge Ave. in Philadelphia. His funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will take place at Locustwood Memorial Park in Cherry Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations in Harry’s memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 171 Jersey St., Bldg. 5, 2nd Fl., Trenton, NJ 08611.
