Washington Township High School PTO funds t-shirts to open school’s Strout era in memorable fashion

Press release from Washington Township School District

In an effort to make the start of a new school year under new leadership at Washington Township High School a memorable one, the school’s PTO will be outfitting all staff with red t-shirts that read “#TWP PRIDE.” New principal Jonathan Strout, his administrative team, all teachers, secretaries and staff, including custodians, hall monitors and food service staff, will be encouraged to wear the shirts to help provide a unified welcome for some 2,245 students on opening day Wednesday, Aug. 29 — beginning at 7 a.m.

The welcome will include noisemakers and homemade signs.

“We are grateful that the PTO has supported this opening day activity,” Strout said. “We wanted to get the students’ attention as soon as they set foot at school. We want them to know that we are happy to see them, that we are here to support them and that we are ready for a great year.”
