Washington Township ‘Meet the Candidates’ forum scheduled for Oct. 18

The Washington Township PTO Presidents Council will sponsor a candidates forum on Thursday, Oct. 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the Eileen Abbott Central Administration Building, 206 East Holly Avenue, Sewell, for the six candidates seeking election to three open seats on the Washington Township Board of Education. Barbara Kutscher, treasurer of the Moorestown Area League of Women Voters and a LWVNJ-trained moderator with more than 27 years of experience, will serve as moderator for this event.

The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan, political organization whose purpose is to encourage the informed and active participation of citizens in government.

Candidates will field questions posed by interested Washington Township residents in attendance at the forum. The program will be taped in its entirety and aired on WT-TV Channel 9/36 in the weeks preceding the November 6th school board election.

The six candidates who are seeking three available seats for three-year terms on the Board of Education include: Bob Abbott (incumbent), Paul Esposito, Dr. Karen Garrison (incumbent), Renee Pollard, Celia “Ann” Volk and Candice Zachowski (incumbent).
