An unidentified man allegedly struck a pedestrian with his truck

At approximately 8:54 p.m. on Aug. 4, a Dodge Dakota extended cab was pulling out of Buy Rite Liquors, 2031 North Black Horse Pike. Upon turning onto Route 42, the Dakota made front end contact with a pedestrian who was walking north in the southbound shoulder of the roadway. The driver of the Dakota continued south on Route 42. Driver was observed completing a purchase in Buy Rite immediately prior to the collision. Pictures from surveillance of video reveal an older model, extended cab Dodge Durango, the front right side appear to be dark in color; however, the bed of the truck appears to be either white or painted with primer.

Driver is a heavyset, white male, possibly in his mid-40’s. Store employees advised male is a frequent customer and possibly lives in the Colonial Estates Mobile Park. Criminal and motor vehicle charges are pending against the driver. Anyone with knowledge of this individual please contact Sgt. Mark Burton on (856) 728–9800 ext. 546 or Sgt. Jim Kelly x540.
