Mayor’s Message: New business in Washington Township, reissued police vehicle and employee of the month

The weekly message from Mayor Joann Gattinelli

Special to The Sun: Mayor Joann Gattinelli with Chief Gurcsik and Chief Connor with the repurposed police vehicle.

New businesses in Washington Township

I would like to highlight several businesses that have recently opened their doors in Washington Township, as well as a new addition to one of the business storefronts. Aquarius Supply is an irrigation and landscaping specialist company that has opened a Sewell location. You can learn more about their business from their website at http://www.aquariussupply.com/.

Another business that will be opening soon is PM Pediatrics which is an urgent care center that is specifically for young children. If you are interested in learning more information about PM Pediatrics, you can visit their website at https://www.pmpediatrics.com/.

I would also like to make mention of an addition to Moozie’s Play Café which is a kids’ gym and cafe. Moozie’s has recently added an area in their storefront that is designed for parents. While the children are playing and creating, parents are able to relax and observe their children as they play.

Lastly, I recently attended the South Jersey Lice Lady ribbon cutting ceremony. Vickie O’Donnell is extremely knowledgeable and is looking to help parents when their children contract head lice. You can visit their website at https://southjerseylicelady.com/ to learn more about their services.

Repurposing a police vehicle

I was happy to hear that Chief Gurcsik of the Washington Township Police Department was offering a used police vehicle to Chief Connor of the Washington Township Ambulance and Rescue Association so they had another vehicle to use during emergency situation around town. Both chiefs had a conversation about this idea and decided this was beneficial to both the police department and the ambulance association. The vehicle was repainted and Chief Gurcsik, Chief Connor and myself met up to exchange the car keys. I am happy that the police department was able to find another use for this vehicle and I am also glad that Chief Connor had a use for such a vehicle. I am always pleased when the community can work together.

July Employee of the Month

Special to The Sun: Mayor Joann Gattinelli with Nick Fiorentino, July’s employee of the month.

I was pleased to present Nick Fiorentino with a certificate, naming him as employee of the month. Nick is a part of our parks and recreation department and was nominated as employee of the month for all of his hard work in keeping Washington Lake Park clean and the lawns manicured during our summer months. I have received many compliments from residents, as well as visitors of the town. I appreciate Nick for all of his hard work and dedication that he puts into his work every day. I would like to thank him for his extra efforts in continuing to keep our Park clean and beautifying the landscape.

Joann Gattinelli is the Mayor of Washington Township. She can be reached at mayorgattinelli@twp.washington.nj.us.
