Rotary Lunch club caps off the year with scholarships, new members

The Moorestown Rotary Lunch club’s year has finished up their year.

The Moorestown Rotary Lunch club has finished up an amazing Rotary year. This spring and early summer had Rotarians out and about all over the community.

The June Rotary Run was a town-wide event that raised more than $30,000 for student scholarships. Later that month, the club wrote a check for $25,000 to provide $2,500 scholarships to 10 deserving Moorestown students.

On July 1 of every year, all 33,000 Rotary clubs throughout the world changeover their leadership. This marked the end of my Amy Webb’s presidency as she passed the baton to Mike Wilson. The club had a changeover event at Moorestown Field Club where they welcomed new board members: Paula Fairley, Kathy Hiltner, Manuela Morais, John O’Meara and Arpita Saha.

The club also thanked Jerry Countess, Karen Koenig, Michelle Rohan and Julia Brines for their past board service. They recognized their charter directors of the evening Rotary Group AMP (Alternative Meeting Place), Geri Chark Frankel and Maddie Webb.

Anyone interested in learning more about Rotary is welcome to attend their Thursday lunch meetings at The Community house at 12:15 or their Tuesday evening meetings at 5:45 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of the month at Harvest Grill.
