Haddonfield attorney elected to bar association post

Kevin J. Murphy will serve as secretary to the Military Law and Veteran’s Affairs Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association

Kevin J. Murphy, an associate for the Haddonfield-based law firm Adinolfi and Packman, P.A., was elected as secretary to the Military Law and Veteran’s Affairs Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association for a one-year term. Murphy is a U.S. Army veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The mission of the Military Law and Veterans’ Affairs Section is to foster positive relations between the active military community in New Jersey and the bar association. This section of the state bar association provides continuing legal education courses for attorneys, awareness of legal issues facing military service members and veterans in New Jersey and spearheads legislation focusing on military and veteran’s issues in the State legislature.

Murphy was commissioned as an officer and entered active duty assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division in 2001 after he graduated from college. During the 2003 invasion of Iraq, and in subsequent stability operations, Kevin was a paratrooper with 3rd Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. Murphy was also deployed to Afghanistan as an advisor to the Afghan National Army. His military decorations include the Combat Action Badge, the Presidential Unit Citation Award, Valorous Unit Award, two Bronze Star Medals, the Parachutist Badge and the Pathfinder Badge.
