In partnership with the newly reinvigorated Burlington County Women’s Advisory Council, Gibbs and Hughes are launching a new county-wide women’s survey to gather meaningful input on how county services and programs could be enhanced to better address their needs.

The survey takes approximately five minutes to complete and can be found on the Burlington County Women’s Advisory Council Facebook page (@BurlingtonCountyWomen) or by visiting: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BurlCoWomenSurvey

Bus accident on Tuckerton Road resulted in multiple injuries

On July 16 at 4:08 p.m., Medford Township Police Fire and EMS units were dispatched to Tuckerton Road just west of Lenape Trail in Medford Lakes for a motor vehicle accident. The accident involved five school buses transporting campers from the JCC Camp on Tuckerton Road in Medford. Each of the buses contained students being transported home after the day camp concluded.

State aid reductions will hit the Lenape Regional High School District

At Wednesday night’s Lenape Regional High School District Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Carol Birnbohm said that on Friday, July 13, the district was notified its state aid for the upcoming school year has been reduced by $961,456.

In an attempt to alleviate the loss of funds in the future, the board passed resolutions to adopt a state aid reduction plan and to apply for emergency aid for the upcoming school year. Birnbohm said the district will request a waiver for relief from the commissioner of education to help with the state aid reductions.

No educational programs or current staff members will be affected by these reductions for the 2018–19 school year.
