Covered Bridge’s Dillon Hall makes history in final South Jersey diving meet

Diver Dillon Hall of Covered Bridge Swim Club reached one final milestone in his youth diving career during last Thursday’s South Jersey Diving Association 1-Meter Championship. Hall made history at the event, becoming the first diver to score a 500 or higher in any SJDA event ever. The milestone was reached in what was Hall’s final South Jersey diving competition prior to heading off to college.

National Night Out builds community ties, Cherry Hill police chief says

In 2016, the Cherry Hill Police Department brought National Night Out to the township’s municipal complex for the first time. Now, National Night Out is a key event for bringing the township together. The police department will again host National Night Out activities at the municipal complex on Tuesday, Aug. 7. Cherry Hill Chief of Police William Monaghan talked about the event’s impact in an interview with The Sun last week.

Cherry Hill-based team to compete in Dragon Boat Festival on July 28

More than 30 teams are preparing to compete in the third annual Cooper River Dragon Boat Festival next Saturday at Cooper River Park. Among the competitors will be the EvoFit Dragons, a Cherry Hill-based team. The Sun spoke to Dragons captain Maureen Kane and captains of other teams in the competitions as they made final preparations prior to the event.

Real Jersey FC 2004s hungry for a championship in second shot at nationals

Cherry Hill’s Matthew Marino and his soccer team, Real Jersey FC 2004s, are heading back to the U.S. Youth Soccer National Championships. The team will compete at nationals for the second consecutive year beginning on Tuesday. Marino, the goalkeeper for Real Jersey, earned five shutouts in helping his team win the U.S. Soccer 14U Eastern regional title on July 3.

Cherry Hill player stars on first-ever U.S. women’s U20 ball hockey team

Cherry Hill’s Julia Cutler received the opportunity of a lifetime earlier this summer as she competed on the first-ever U.S. women’s U20 ball hockey team at the inaugural ISBHF U20 Girls World Cup in Prerov, Czech Republic. Cutler made a big impact in the tournament, scoring three goals in the United States’ win over Great Britain. Cutler and other local players talked about the experience in interviews with The Sun last week.
