Press release from United Way of Gloucester County

Special to The Sun: Emidio “Mid” Mariani, the 2018 Campaign Chair of United Way of Gloucester County

The United Way of Gloucester County (UWGC) has selected Emidio “Mid” Mariani to continue leading the organization’s fundraising efforts as the 2018 Campaign Chair. This is the second year Mariani will be assisting the United Way in this capacity.

“Mid has proven to be a personable, energetic advocate for our local United Way,” said Michael Gower, Executive Director of the United Way of Gloucester County. “His ambition, compassionate nature and extensive experience in the business and sales fields are invaluable assets to further our mission in the community.”

Mariani began volunteering with the United Way when he owned Express Employment Professionals in Woodbury. He is currently a sales manager at SAR Automotive Equipment, which serves Central and Southern New Jersey, the greater Philadelphia area, and Delaware.

“When the United Way asked me to serve as Campaign Chair again, it was an offer I couldn’t refuse,” Mariani said. “The United Way of Gloucester County offers the best opportunities to impact the families in our community, and the organization is also working to bolster its relationships with the small business community. I want to do my part to make them successful.”

The United Way of Gloucester County decided to ask Mariani, a United Way volunteer for about four years, to serve as Campaign Chair for a second year because he has a clear understanding of the organization’s mission, vision, and goals and how to further promote it in the community.

Mid will be at the United Way’s Annual Campaign Kickoff to welcome event attendees and volunteers. The Kickoff will be held at RiverWinds Community Center on Thursday, August 16 at 5 p.m.. This is a free community event where attendees can enjoy food, face painting, mini games and family fun. Employees from local companies and organizations will engage in friendly competition. It marks the official launch of the annual fundraising appeal.

The United Way of Gloucester County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to Building Better Lives by funding impactful programs and initiatives. This local United Way is the leader in building community capacity to foster individual well-being. With a focus on education, financial stability and health, the UWGC supports over 25 programs and initiatives for Gloucester County residents. Visit www.uwgcnj.org for more information.
