First child to complete the ‘1,000 Books Before Kindergarten’ challenge

The Burlington County Library System congratulates Ava Duchini, age 3, for being the first child to complete the BCLS “1,000 Books Before Kindergarten” challenge.

Ava was recognized with a personalized commemorative bookplate inside “Dear Zoo,” a children’s book at the Bordentown Library.

The “1,000 Books Before Kindergarten” program is a nationwide initiative to promote strong early literacy skills for newborns, infants and toddlers by reading 1,000 books to them before they head off to school.
