Evesham Police arrest man allegedly roaming parking lot with burglary tools

Police credit an alert citizen with making the original report.

The following information is on file with the Evesham Township Police Department:

On July 1 at approximately 4 p.m., a concerned citizen contacted the Evesham Township Police Department and reported a suspicious male roaming the parking lot of Whole Foods along Route 73.

Responding officers located the male in the nearby parking lot of the LA Fitness along Route 73. During the investigation, police say that officers discovered that the male was allegedly in possession of burglary tools (pry bars, screwdriver’s and a hammer), the male was also allegedly found to be in possession of heroin, marijuana and hypodermic needles.

Arrested:

A male, age 20, of Philadelphia, was charged with fourth-degree possession of burglary tools, third-degree possession of heroin and a disorderly person’s offense for possession of marijuana and hypodermic needles. He was released on his own recognizance.

According to police, the success of the Evesham Township Police Department is enhanced by the active involvement of Evesham residents. When residents call to report suspicious activity, police say they not only help the department, but they make your neighborhood a safer place to live, play and work.
