Fourth of July fun coming to Marlton next week

Parades, 5K races and fireworks will hit the town on Wednesday, July 4.

The Evesham Celebrations Foundation is once again set to host a day of fun events as part of its annual Fourth of July celebration next week on Wednesday, July 4.

Kicking off the day is the Marlton Mayor’s Cup 5K Run and One Mile Fun Run/Walk at 8:30 a.m. along Main Street, starting at the Main Street Firehouse.

Pre-registration for the run will cost $25, with a fee of $20 to participate in the walk.

Registration will also be open on the day of the event, from 7 to 8:15 a.m. at the Main Street Firehouse.

Race day registration for the run will cost $30, with a fee of $20 to participate in the walk.

The event is rain or shine. To register online through June 30, visit http://www.eveshamcelebrations.org.

After the run and walk, the Fourth of July fun continues with the township’s annual Kid’s Bike Parade at 10:30 a.m. where children and their families are invited to head down Main Street for their own parade before the main parade begins.

Kids can decorate their bikes for the parade, or parents can pull young children in decorated wagons.

Children on bikes and kids in wagons without straps must wear safety helmets.

To register for the bike parade, meet at the Main Street Firehouse by 10 a.m.

Next, at 11:30 a.m. the main Fourth of July Parade begins, during which residents can set up their chairs and blankets along Main Street to see floats, marchers, music and more pass by.

Finally, Evesham’s Fourth of July celebrations will be capped off by the annual fireworks show at Cherokee High School. Doors to the school open at 7 p.m., with the show beginning at 9:30 p.m.
