Voorhees native Justin Hagenman selected in 2018 MLB Draft

A junior pitcher at Penn State University, Hagenman was taken in the 23rd round of the draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers.

A Voorhees native was selected in the 2018 Major League Baseball Draft on Wednesday afternoon.

Justin Hagenman, a junior pitcher at Penn State, was selected in the 23rd round of the draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers. Hagenman was the 704th overall selection of the draft.

Hagenman went to high school at Bishop Eustace Preparatory School and was a 2014 All-Olympic Conference player. Hagenman also played in the Carpenter Cup during his time in high school.

At Penn State, Hagenman was named to the 2016 Big Ten All-Freshman team. This season, Hagenman made 14 starts for the Nittany Lions, going 3–7 with a 4.60 earned run average. He struck out 76 batters in 78 and one-third innings.
