Weekly Roundup: Earth Day and Arbor Day at IMS, Fulbright Award, Kiki Open Scholarship

Catch up on what happened this week in Shamong.

Earth Day and Arbor Day were celebrated at Indian Mills Elementary School

Jennifer Trauger always seems to find a way to bring her topics to life, and she outdid herself this year as part of her science lesson. The Indian Mills School kindergarten classes were learning about the issues associated with Earth Day and Arbor Day; focusing on the need to keep the planet populated with trees as a way of benefitting all of us. The students were naturally concerned with how trees help our environment, how they are cared for in the wild, as well as what they could do to help them thrive.

A group of dedicated volunteers is once again teeing up an opportunity for locals to enjoy a fun-filled day of golf while also supporting the students of the Lenape Regional High School District.

The Konstantinos Scholarship Foundation has announced the 26th Annual Kiki Open Scholarship Tournament, set to take place on July 24 at the Medford Lakes Country Club.

The yearly golf tournament raises money to fund scholarships for students across the district in memory of former, longtime superintendent Kereazis “Kiki” Konstantinos, who served as superintendent for the district for three decades, from 1963 through 1993.
