Evesham Police say alleged shoplifter allegedly used force against store employee before arrest

Police say the alleged incident took place at the Marshalls store on Route 73 on May 24.

The following information is on file with the Evesham Township Police Department:

On May 24 at 2 p.m., Evesham Police officials say officers responded to the Marshalls store, 704 S. Route 73, for an alleged shoplifter who had allegedly assaulted a store loss prevention employee and was being detained by shoppers.

Upon officer’s arrival, police say the male was taken into custody for the alleged robbery and alleged shoplifting of $200 worth of clothing. Incident to the arrest, police say the male was also allegedly found to be in possession of crack cocaine, heroin and pills.

Arrested:

A male, age 34, of Glassboro, was charged with second-degree robbery, fourth-degree shoplifting and third-degree drug possession. He was lodged in the Burlington County Jail with no bail.
