A parent workshop is set for 7 p.m.,Thursday, May 17 in Clearview’s Toscano Theater.

Andrew Donofrio is a retired Cyber Police Officer from Saddle River. He has dedicated the next stage of his career to educating others including parents, students and faculty on issues related to child development, communicating with teens, the psychology of bullying and the challenges that teens face that prevent them from succeeding.

In this workshop Andrew will identify the potential challenges our kids face as they launch into the next phase of their lives, and how we, as parents and educators, can guide them at this crucial time. Included in the discussion will be drug and alcohol usage, the impact of technology (digital distraction), bullying, risky behavior, exposure to adult material, distracted driving and several others. Armed with the knowledge of what your children face today, he will then move on to effective methods of communication, through in-depth understanding of how people receive information and what motivates them to want to apply it.
