Washington Township Education Foundation is hosting 22nd annual Golf Classic on May 18

Come support the Education Foundation on Friday, May 18 at Wedgwood Country Club in Turnersville.

The Washington Township Education Foundation invites area golf enthusiasts to join in a great time for a great cause at the organization’s 22nd annual Golf Classic on Friday, May 18. The outing will be hosted, rain or shine, at Wedgwood Country Club in Turnersville. Registration and lunch will precede a 1 p.m. shotgun start for the scramble-formatted outing. A cash bar, dinner and an awards ceremony, along with prizes and giveaways, will complete the afternoon. All proceeds will directly benefit the Washington Township Public Schools.

Individual golfers can register at a cost of $125. Sponsorship opportunities and special prices for corporate foursomes are available. To obtain a registration form or to secure additional information, please contact Classic Chairman Gary Knight at (856) 816–2199, or Publicity Chairperson Jan Giel at (856) 589–6644, ext. 6550 or via email at jgiel@wtps.org.

“We are looking forward to an even more successful outing this year,” WTEF President Charlie Doud said, “as we continue to raise the bar in providing a quality and fun outing for our amazingly generous supporters.”

Proceeds from the WTEF’s 22nd annual Golf Classic will be used to offset the cost of numerous worthwhile WTEF activities and sponsorships. Since 1996, the WTEF has diversified educational opportunities for more than 7,200 students who attend Washington Township schools. To date, the WTEF has donated more than $960,000 to bring in noted professional and multicultural programs, establish the Renaissance Program at WTHS and to fund a student art gallery, dance studio and greenhouse. In addition, the WTEF has supported the High School Marching Band, Project Graduation, issued 450 mini-grants to staff members and upgraded the sound system at Tom Brown Stadium.

Not a golfer? Individuals still can lend their support to the Golf Classic by attending a post-golf reception for a cost of $45 or by making a tax-deductible donation.
