Forty-nine students scored above the international average and received awards.
The National Latin Exam was given on the Ides of March 2018 to more than 143,000 students from all 50 states and 24 foreign countries. At the William Allen Middle School in Moorestown, many of Mrs. Atherholt’s eighth grade Latin students took the Latin I Exam.

Connor Wu, Bryan Wang, Eric Liu, Aidan Nemiroff, Samuel Borris, Richard D’Angelo, Carolyn Pierson, Jack Legath, Kaitlyn Eagles, Brian Kaye, Maya Butani, Christian Wong, Spencer Talbot, Nathan Krachman, Robert Woltjen, Francesca DiMarino, Bennett Davenport, Rachel Michaud, Samantha Miller, Alexandra Alt, Karol Krupinski, Jonah Luetke and Katherine Shenot received gold medals and summa cum laude certificates.
Silver medals and maxima cum laude certificates were awarded to Andrew Hutchins, Leoma Brouwers, Grace Hutchinson, Emily Elia, Isabella Delgado, Marian Yanka, Grace Tsai, Nate Juro, Mia Zambrano, Benjamin Brown, Sean Harley, Ava Hutchinson, Marisa Brown-Johnson, Tristan Mindnich, O’Neal Keegan, Paige Donnan, Ronald Stewart and Catherine Shawaryn.
Aidan Bove, Stephanie Pozega, Ashlyn Wilshire, Nick DiMarino, Maggie Weng and Ava Cickavage were awarded magna cum laude certificates.
Laura Sullivan and Joseph McBride received cum laude certificates.
Mrs. Atherholt’s and Mr. Knight’s seventh grade students took the Introduction to Latin Exam. Thirty-one students scored higher than the international average and received awards. Raghav Akula, Priya Panganamamula, Elliana Nikolic, John Cwik, Simran Sinha, Rohan Bajpai, Madeline Woltjen, Joseph Han, Ryan Ford, Alexis Mann, Elvyn Liu, Jeremy Fung and Carolina DeJoseph were awarded blue ribbons and Certificates of Outstanding Achievement.
Certificates of Achievement were given to Grace Liu, Alexa Duffy, Ryan O’Sullivan, Elise Peterson, John Kirchner, Marek Staniszewski, Caitlin Barr, Maya Patel, Lucas Megill, Emma Vernick, Isabella Moccia, William Inglis, Shrish Bayyapu, Viraj Pentapalli, Diya Garg, Holly McGee, Jack Ferguson and Stephanie Shawaryn.
