Evesham Police say K-9 sniffed out meth and pills during recent vehicle stop

Police say a search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine and Oxycodone pills.

The following information is on file with the Evesham Township Police Department:

On May 5 at 6:30 p.m., police an officer with the Evesham Township Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop on N. Maple Avenue after observing the driver engaged in suspicious activity in the township’s Heritage Development.

During the investigation, police called Evesham Police K-9 Spike to assist officers with the detection of narcotics. K-9 Spike was walked around the exterior of the suspect’s vehicle, at which time police say he alerted officers to the presence of narcotics inside the car. According to police, a subsequent search of the vehicle by officers resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine and Oxycodone Pills.

Arrested:

A male, age 54, of Marlton,was charged with third-degree possession of methamphetamine and third-degree possession of Oxycodone pills. He was released on his own recognizance.
