Washington Township middle schools hosted their third annual “Middle School Unified Bowling Event” on Wednesday, May 2, at the Brunswick Zone in Turnersville. In previous years, the event had been hosted in the schools, but the added interest this year forced a move to the larger location.

“They were very generous and cooperative with us,” Orchard Valley Middle School physical education teacher Karen Elgrissy said of the Brunswick Zone staff.

At the event, students of all abilities, as part of the Project Unify concept, worked together and competed in a friendly game of bowling. High-fives and helping hands were the way of the day.

“The unified vision is basically to enable students of all abilities to have the power to positively impact their school communities by promoting social inclusion and physical activity,” Elgrissy said.
