High school seniors enlisting in Military to be honored at ceremony

The sixth annual Enlistee Recognition Ceremony will honor 37 high school seniors on Thursday, May 3.

On Thursday, May 3, the Gloucester County Board of Freeholders will hold their sixth annual Enlistee Recognition Ceremony to honor 37 high school seniors from multiple Gloucester County schools that have chosen to enlist in the US Military rather than attend college.

This program will recognize the seniors for their decision to serve the country and thank them during this graduation season.

The students will be paired and seated with veterans from the community and during the dinner ceremony each student will receive an award from a representative of their branch of the military.

The program will begin at 7:45 p.m. at Bogey’s Club and Cafe, Pitman Golf Course, located at 501 Pitman Road in Sewell. Dinner will begin at 7 p.m.

Speakers at the event include Command Sergeant Major Mike Colbert, of the US Army and NJ Amy National Guard, and Lt. Colonel Bradd Thompson, of the US Air Force/NJ Air National Guard .

Representatives from the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force and NJ Army National Guard, Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger, Freeholder Deputy Director and Liaison Giuseppe “Joe” Chila and Semper Fidelis Detachment of the Marine Corps League will also be in attendance.
