Mantua Township police report, April 1–10

April 1

● Ptl. Mroz and his K9 partner, Zuke, assisted Harrison PD with a drug sniff of a vehicle. Zuke indicated positively to the vehicle and the occupant was arrested.

● Patrols were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on Pitman Rd in which a vehicle struck two deer.

● Patrols were dispatched to a domestic dispute in the Sewell. We responded and separated the parties until a resolution could be worked out.

● Ptl. Hauss recognized a male that was wanted for shoplifting out of the Kohls store a few days prior. He was arrested and processed for the shoplifting.

● Officers responded to an intoxicated person in the Royal Oaks section that was causing a disturbance inside their house. A peaceful outcome was worked out with all parties involved.

● Ptl. Mroz and his K9 partner, Zuke, assisted Paulsboro PD with a drug sniff of a vehicle. Zuke indicated positively to the vehicle.

April 2

● Officers responded to the Edelman Fossil Park for a report of criminal mischief that was done within the park.

● Officers responded to the Rosewood Development for a report of a solicitor in the area without a permit. Officers located the subject and advised to stop until a permit could be obtained.

April 3

● A theft report was taken from Delaware Valley Florist.

● A resident reported that a trailer was stolen from his side yard. The trailer was entered into the NCIC database.

● Officers responded to a family dispute in the area of Route 45 involving a father and his children. The dispute was resolved and the father took the children home

● Patrols responded to a single car crash is which a deer was struck on Main Street near Mount Royal Rd.

● Officers assisted a motorist at the Wawa on Glassboro Rd who had locked his keys inside his vehicle. We were able to gain entry without issue.

● Ptl. Mroz conducted a motor vehicle stop on Glassboro Rd in the area of Sony Music. An occupant was arrested for possession of cocaine. They were processed and turned over to the County Jail.

● Ptl. Mroz conducted another motor vehicle stop on Lambs Rd. The occupant was found to have active warrants for his arrest. He was arrested, processed and released.

April 4

● An arrest was made from a theft case that occurred at the Car Effex business.

● A telephone pole fell on Pitman Rd taking all the power lines with it, completely blocking the roadway.

● Ptl. Mroz conducted a car stop on Route 45 and arrested an occupant on an outstanding warrant. They were processed and released.

● Criminal Mischief was reported at the Sewell Baseball Fields in which initial estimates puts the damage at over $5000. Ptl. Layton is investigating.

● Patrols responded for a phone scam in which someone identified themselves as an IRS agent and ordered the homeowner to pay back money owed to the IRS or else they would be arrested.

April 5

● Patrols responded to the new Wawa store construction site because picketers were there. It was determined everything was peaceful and there was no need for officers to intervene.

● Patrols responded to a motor vehicle crash on Golf Club Rd in area of Barnsboro Rd. There were minor injuries and a vehicle was towed from the scene.

● Ptl. Mroz and his K9 partner, Zuke, assisted Woolwich PD with a drug sniff of a vehicle. There was a positive indication to the vehicle.

● Ptl. Hauss conducted a motor vehicle stop and the occupant was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of the Sheriff’s Department. He was processed and turned over to them.

April 6

● Patrols responded to assist a homeowner who called to report that someone had cut trees down on his property.

● Officers responded to a crash on Wenonah Avenue in the area of the cemetery.

● Officers took a theft report at the Sewell School. Victim reported two hubcaps were stolen from her vehicle while she was at the school.

● Officers assisted a motorist that had locked their keys in their vehicle. Officers gained entry.

● Officers responded to the Mantua Fire Museum for a large group of juveniles that came from a hall rental. Officers made arrests for drug charges and underage drinking on people from this party.

April 7

● Officers assisted a motorist at the Total Turf Sports Complex that was locked out of their vehicle with their dog inside. We were able to gain entry.

● Officers supervised community service workers who picked up garbage on the side of the road in the area of the Walgreens Store.

● Ptl Sheilds assisted a victim with recovering a cell phone that was stolen from the Wawa store on Route 45. The phone was quickly located and an arrest was made.

April 8

● Officers took a report of harassment between the victim and her ex-boyfriend. A restraining order was also granted in this case.

April 9

● Officers conducted a search warrant in Centre City in conjunction with the Haddon Twp Police Dept. Gloucester County SWAT and Animal Control assisted in the execution of the warrant.

● Officers responded to a residence in Centre City for an unwanted person. That person was found to have active warrants and was arrested and turned over to the county jail.

● Ptl. Hauss took a theft report in which the homeowner reported someone removed cash from her bedroom. Ptl. Hauss was able to find a suspect, interview them and charges are pending.

● Ptl. Lipsett conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested the occupant for an outstanding warrant out of Glassboro. They were processed and released.

April 10

● Officers responded to the Centre City Development for a report of harassment. The victim reported that she was being harassed via Facebook.

● Officers assisted in a child custody dispute.

● Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash in the area of the Wawa on Route 45. There were no injuries reported.

● Officers responded to the Villages of Berkley for a subject that was under the influence of something and wanted to go to the crisis unit. Officers remained on scene until EMS could safely transport.
