Gloucester County residents can now register for a defensive driving course that can save money on vehicle insurance and remove penalty points assessed for driving violations.
Sponsored by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office for the past seven years, the course will be offered both in two weekday sessions , on Monday, May 21, and Tuesday, May 22, f rom 6 to 9 p.m. — with attendance required both evenings to receive a certificate of completion — and in a single six-hour weekend session on Saturday, May 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A bag lunch is advisable for the Saturday class.
Classes will be held at Rowan College at Gloucester County, in Room 716 of Scott Hall. The college is located off Tanyard Road in Deptford Township. Use parking lot D.
A $10 processing fee is charged for class materials and the cost of removing up to two points from a driver’s record with the NJ Motor Vehicle Commission. The fee is payable at the class. Cash will not be accepted. Checks should be made payable to the National Safety Council. Vehicle insurers give a five percent premium reduction for completing the course, which uses lessons developed by the National Safety Council.
