Mt. Laurel Police Department reports drug overdoses, shoplifting and more in recent blotter

The following reports are on file with the Mt. Laurel Township Police Department:

On April 16 at 10:58 a.m., patrols responded to the Home Depot on Nixon Drive for the report of a shoplifting. Loss Prevention employees reported that a female attempted to shoplift nearly $600 worth of power tools. After being confronted by store employees, the female fled the scene in a blue Hyundai Elantra.

On April 16 at 2:10 a.m., patrols responded to a residence on Horseshoe Drive for a 911 call. Upon arrival, patrols were able to look through a window and see a male passed out on a couch. Attempts to get the male’s attention by knocking on the doors and windows did not work. Patrols located an unsecure door and made entry into the residence. It was determined that the male was passed out due to an apparent heroin overdose. Narcan was administered and the male became responsive. He was transported to a local hospital for further treatment.

On April 15 at 3:15 p.m., patrols responded to a residence on the 100 block of Collin Court for the report of an unconscious male. Upon patrol arrival, they located the male on the floor unconscious from an apparent drug overdose. Narcan was administered and the male became responsive. He was transported to a local hospital for further treatment.

On April 15 at 12:27 a.m., patrols responded to the 200 block of Willow Turn for the report of a motor vehicle theft. During the investigation, it was determined that the vehicle owner fabricated a report that his vehicle was stolen and that he in fact struck a parked vehicle while driving. Officers on scene determined that the 46-year-old male from Trenton was under the influence of alcohol. He was subsequently arrested and charged with DWI and other motor vehicle violations. He was processed and released to a family member pending a future court hearing.

On April 14 at 11:51 p.m., patrols responded to West Bluebell Lane for the report of a criminal mischief to a vehicle. The victim/resident reported that sometime between 10 and 11:50 p.m. an unknown person scratched the passenger side fender of his vehicle.

On April 14 at 12:43 p.m., patrols responded to a hotel on the 1100 block of Route 73 for a report of a theft. The victim reported that an unknown person stole a license plate off his vehicle while parked in the parking lot sometime overnight. No suspects at this time.

On April 14 at 1:15 a.m., patrols responded to the area of Grant Road for the report of a suspicious vehicle. Patrols located the vehicle and made contact with the 34-year-old male driver from Willingboro who was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. He was subsequently arrested. He was charged with DWI and other motor vehicle violations. He was released to an area hospital for further treatment.

On April 13 at 1:28 p.m., patrols responded to a hotel on the 500 block of Fellowship Road for the report of a theft. Employees reported that a guest who recently checked out of the hotel stole a TV valued at $500 from his room. A 32-year-old male from Pennsauken was contacted and returned to the hotel to pay for the TV.

On April 13 at 9:50 a.m., patrols responded to the area of Route 38 and Larchmont Boulevard for the report of a motor vehicle crash. During the investigation it was determined that the 58-year-old male driver from Willingboro, who caused the crash, was under the influence of narcotics. He was subsequently arrested. He was processed and charged with assault by auto, DUI and other motor vehicle violations. He was released on a summons to a family member, pending a future court date.

On April 12 at 9:13 p.m., patrols responded to a motel on the 600 block of Fellowship Road for the report of a disorderly male. Patrols located a 20-year-old male from Gibbsboro who displayed erratic behavior from being under the influence of narcotics. Investigation revealed that the person was in possession of hypodermic syringes used to inject heroin. He was subsequently arrested and released on a summons pending a future court date. After processing, the male was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

On April 12 at 1:23 p.m., patrols responded to a day care center on the 1100 block of S. Church St. for the report of a theft. The complainant reported that sometime between April 10 and April 12, an unknown person(s) forced entry through a rear door and stole copper pipe.

On April 12 at 10:21 a.m., patrols responded to a gas station on the 1200 block of Route 73 for a theft of gas. The gas attendant reported that a male suspect got $15 worth of gas and left the area without paying.

On April 11 at 7:08 p.m., patrols responded to the Home Depot on Nixon Drive for the report of a shoplifting. The Loss Prevention employee reported that a person put multiple power tools in his shopping cart and attempted to leave the store without paying. When store employees confronted the person, he abandoned the cart and fled to a waiting purple minivan with a temporary license plate in the parking lot and left the scene. The person was described as a male, in his mid 20s, short black/gray hair and a scruffy beard wearing a black hoody and a tan Carhartt vest.

On April 11 at 11:14 a.m., patrols responded to East Peachtree Court for the report of damage to a vehicle. The victim/resident reported that sometime overnight, an unknown person punctured two tires on her vehicle that was parked in front of her residence.
