Mt. Laurel Police Department reports of Sicklerville man charged with assault by auto

The following information is on file with the Mt. Laurel Township Police Department:

On April 2 at 12:48 a.m., patrols from the Mt. Laurel Township Police Department responded to the 300 block of Delancey Place for the report of a pedestrian motor vehicle crash.

When patrols arrived, police say the patrols found an injured female seated on the curb.

During the investigation, police determined was determined that the incident began when an argument occurred with multiple people.

Police say one of the alleged individuals involved in the incident left the scene in his vehicle, and as he was leaving the area, he allegedly accelerated towards the involved people who were in the area of the roadway.

Police say all were able to get out of the way with the exception of the female victim, and the vehicle then fled the scene.

According to police, the female was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Police say the alleged driver of the vehicle, a 23-year-old male from Sicklerville, was later located at a family member’s residence in Pine Hill, where he was arrested.

According to police, the male was charged with assault by auto and leaving the scene of a crash with injuries.

Police say he was committed to the Burlington County Jail pending a future court date.

On April 3 at 1:34 a.m., patrols conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 38 in the area of I-295. During the investigation, it was determined that a 21-year-old male driver from Maple Shade was intoxicated. He was subsequently arrested for DWI. He was processed and charged with motor vehicle violations. He was released to a family member pending a future court date.

On April 1 at 3:23 p.m., patrols responded to the ShopRite on Nixon Drive for the report of a shoplifter in custody. Loss prevention employee reported that the 29-year-old female from Cherry Hill concealed $52.50 in store merchandise and attempted to leave the store without paying. She was arrested and charged on a summons with shoplifting.

On April 1 at 2:57 .p., patrols responded to the Funplex for a report of a fight in progress. It was determined that three males engaged in a mutual fight for unknown reasons. All males were separated. No complaints at this time.

On April 1 at 8:47 a.m., patrols responded to a hotel on the 300 block of Fellowship Road for the report of a theft. The victim reported that he allowed a friend to stay in his room the night prior. When he woke up in the morning, he determined that his book bag containing $3,000 and his friend were gone.

On March 31 at 7:02 a.m., patrols responded to a gas station on the 900 block of Route 73 for the report of theft of gasoline. The employee reported that an individual left without paying for $83 worth of gas. The individual is described as a male between the ages of 45–50 with a beard, driving a white sedan with Delaware license plates.

On March 31 at 1:11 a.m., patrols investigated an occupied vehicle in the parking lot of a motel on the 600 block of Fellowship Road. During the investigation, patrols observed a hypodermic needle in the vehicle. Further investigation revealed the 28-year-old individual from Bear, Del. also had drug paraphernalia and crack cocaine in his possession. The individual was arrested and charged on a summons with possession of drugs, possession of a hypodermic needle and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a summons pending a future court date.

On March 30 at 3:44 p.m., patrols responded to Patricia Lane for the report of a theft of a snow blower. The victim/resident reported that between 5 p.m. on March 29 and noon on March 30, an unknown individual stole a snow blower valued at $600 from his driveway.

On March 29 at 11:38 p.m., patrols investigated a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of a motel on the 1100 block of Route 73. During the investigation, the officers arrested the occupants of the vehicle for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. A 28-year-old female from Laurel Springs was charged on a summons with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. A 27-year-old male from Hi-Nella was charged on a summons for illegal possession of prescription pills and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were released pending a future court date.

On March 29 at 11:27 a.m., patrols responded to ALDI on Route 38 for the report of a shoplifting. Employees reported that a male stole a gas pressure washer valued at $249.99 and two full bags of groceries. The male fled the area in a red Toyota Tercel.

On March 29 at 2:13 p.m., patrols responded to the Target on Centerton Road for the report of a shoplifter in custody. A20-year-old individual from Pitman was reported to have used the self-checkout lanes to ring up her merchandise. During the transaction, she under-rang two $119 items by using the bar code off of $.99 deodorant. The female was processed and charged with shoplifting on a summons. She was released pending a future court date.

On March 28 at 2:07 p.m., patrols responded to a residence on Scottswood Drive for the report of a fraud/theft. An 84-year-old victim reports that she suspects her home health aide has used her credit card without authorization to make $622 in purchases. The aide also is suspected of stealing a check out of the victim’s purse and using the check at Target for $159.39 worth of merchandise.

On March 26 at 7:25 p.m., patrols responded to a residence on Union Mill Terrace for the report of an unconscious a 54-year-old female. Police, Mt. Laurel EMS and paramedics responded. Upon arrival, the female was conscious but disoriented. Narcan was administered. The female was transported to a local hospital for further treatment.

On March 26 at 2:16 p.m., patrols responded to The Burlington Store at 70 Centerton Road for a report of a shoplifting. Store Loss Prevention reported that between 5:07 and 5:29 p.m., an unknown male shoplifted $150 worth of store merchandise. The male was described as between 20 to 30 years old, 5’10, average build, with a shaved head, short beard and a diamond stud earing in his left ear. The male left the scene prior to police arrival.

On March 26 3:37 p.m., patrols responded to a gym on the 3900 block of Church Road for the report of a fight. The 24-year-old victim from Oaklyn reported that during a basketball game, he was struck in the face by a 35-year-old male from Pennsauken.
