Brian Glatz named next head coach for the Cherokee High School Football program

Glatz served as the offensive run play coordinator under coach PJ Mehigan from 2002 through 2018.

Cherokee High School has announced that Brian Glatz has been named as the next head coach for the Cherokee High School Football program.

District officials describe Glatz as outstanding student athlete, excelling in both football and wrestling prior to graduating from Cherokee in 1986.

Glatz then earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1986.

Glatz returned to Cherokee in 1995, where he began his teaching and coaching career.

He served as an offensive line coach under then head coach John Scott and continued his line coach duties in addition to becoming the offensive run play coordinator under coach PJ Mehigan from 2002 through 2018.

Mehigan and his staff won five South Jersey Group IV/V Championships during this era.

Glatz will become only the fourth head football coach at Cherokee High School.
