Music Festival and Town Appreciation Night

On Saturday, June 2, Monroe Township’s eighth annual Music Festival and Town Appreciation Night will be held at Owens Park from 5 to 10:30 p.m.

“It’s a night that we look to give back to the town, for everything that they do — especially with regard to all the volunteers we have in our town. As an example, it takes over 900 volunteers that put in over 100,000 man hours to support football, baseball, basketball, soccer, hockey, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, ambulance [and] fire volunteers — everything that takes place,” said Director of Parks and Recreation and Community Affairs Jim Bonder. “We really like to make it a night where we give back to everybody.”

The event, which is sponsored by the Monroe Township Parks and Recreation Commission, will feature more than 100 vendors and food trucks, a beer and wine garden, more than 12 amusements for younger children and teens, live music by “Don’t Call Me Francis” and country singer Madeline Smith, as well as the high school and local youth bands — and lastly, a fireworks show to cap off the night.

“I believe that’s our best fireworks display of the year,” Bonder said.

Parking, as well as shuttle service from Williamstown Middle School, will be provided. The rain date for the event is Sunday, June 3. For more information, call (856) 728–1372.
