Do Something: Early St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, Winslow Township’s birthday bash

Residents can get an early start on celebrating St. Patrick’s Day or enjoy a slew of other events around the region this weekend.

Around Sicklerville

  • Winslow Township in Camden County will celebrate its 173rd birthday on Saturday at the Bud Duble Senior Center, 33 Cooper Folly Road in Atco, from noon to 3 p.m. Activities and historical displays will be part of the event. There will also be presentations and Winslow first responders will be on hand. Admission to the event is free and there will be free hot dogs, soda and birthday cake. At the Jersey Shore

  • Celebrate all things about the Pine Barrens at the 13th annual Lines on the Pines event on Sunday at Stockton University’s campus center in Galloway from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will include music, book signings, artists, crafters and fun for the whole family.   • Shoppers will want to be in Avalon on Saturday from the final day of the town’s Shop-A-Holics weekend. The event takes place at The Princeton and The Whitebrier restaurants. There will be sales offered by more than 30 local stores, plenty of delicious food and more. Donations will also be accepted for Friend in Need, a local nonprofit charity helping local families in need. In Philadelphia

  • A pair of St. Patrick’s Day traditions return to Philadelphia this weekend. The 2018 Leprechaun Run will take place on Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. along MLK Drive starting near the Art Museum. There will be a lucky seven-mile race, classic five-mile race and two-mile fun run and walk. The cost to participate in the seven-mile race and five-mile race is $40 per person and participating in the two-mile fun run and walk is $30 per person.   • The St. Patrick’s Day celebration continues in Philadelphia on Sunday as the 2018 Philadelphia St. Patrick’s Day Parade steps off beginning at noon. The parade still begin at Broad Street, will travel down to City Hall, continue to Market Street and will travel all the way down to Penn’s Landing.
