Rowan ranked one of best schools for online study

Second time this year Rowan recognized in this category

Press release issued by Rowan University

Rowan University has been recognized as the second best college or university in New Jersey for online studies by the web site AffordableCollegesOnline.Org., the second organization to recognize Rowan for online programming this year.

The organization, which noted that New Jersey has more than 80 colleges and universities offering varying degrees of online programming, ranked Rowan among the three best four-year institutions in the state for virtual instruction, one place behind Rutgers University-New Brunswick and one ahead of Thomas Edison State University.

It ranked Rowan College at Burlington County the best two-year institution in New Jersey for online programming.

In order to be considered, AffordableCollegesOnline.Org requires four-year colleges and universities to be accredited and to offer at least three online bachelor’s or master’s degrees and to have an annual in-state tuition of less than $25,000.

Its methodology also considers: average in-state net price for first-time/full-time undergraduates, the number and breadth of online programs available, the student-teacher ratio, the six-year graduation rate, the percentage of beginning, full-time undergraduate students receiving scholarship/grant aid from the college, the average amount of financial aid students receive directly from the college, the availability of academic/career counseling services, the availability of job placement services for students and graduates and the three-year loan default rate.
