Heroin overdose reversals, DWI arrests and more in latest Mt. Laurel Township Police Report

The following information is on file with the Mt. Laurel Township Police Department:

On Feb. 26 at 10:28 p.m., patrols responded to a motel on the 600 block of Fellowship Road for the report of an overdose. Patrols, EMS and paramedics responded and found a 35-year-old female from Cherry Hill unconscious on the floor. Emergency responders administered Narcan and the female became responsive. She admitted to injecting Heroin. She was transported to an area hospital for further treatment. No charges were filed at this time due to the Overdose Prevention Act.

On Feb. 25 at 1:56 p.m., patrols, EMS, and paramedics responded to the 700 block of Courtney Way for the report of a 22-year-old male unresponsive. Emergency responders administered Narcan and the male became responsive. There was evidence of Heroin in the immediate area. The male refused further medical treatment. No charges were filed at this time due to the Overdose Prevention Act.

On Feb. 25 at 3:25 a.m., patrols conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 in the area of Fellowship Road for motor vehicle violations. During the stop and subsequent investigation, it was determined that the driver, a 27-year-old female from Maple Shade, was under the influence of alcohol. The driver also admitted that there was marijuana in the vehicle. The driver was arrested and charged on a summons with possession of marijuana. She was also charged on a summons with DWI and other motor vehicle violations. Her blood alcohol content reading was .21 percent. She was released to a family member.

On Feb. 24 at 10:30 p.m., patrols responded to the 4900 block of Dunbarton Way for the report of a criminal mischief to a vehicle. The victim reported that sometime between 8 p.m. on Feb. 23 and 10 a.m. on Feb. 24, an unknown suspect struck his vehicle windshield causing the windshield to crack.

On Feb. 24 at 2:45 p.m., patrols responded to the Wawa at 3605 Route 38 for the report of theft of gas. Employees advised that they pumped $25 worth of gas into a vehicle, but the driver left the area without paying. The suspect was identified and returned to pay the owed money.

On Feb. 24 at 2:34 a.m., patrols conducted a pedestrian stop of two individuals on Route 38 in the area of Marter Avenue. A 27-year-old male from Cherry Hill was arrested for providing false information to hinder his apprehension due to being a wanted person out of Burlington County Superior Court. He was charged on a summons for the hindering charge and committed to the Burlington County Jail as a wanted person. The other male, a 33-year-old from Audubon, was also arrested for providing false information to hinder the apprehension of his friend. He was released on a summons pending a future court date.

On Feb. 23 at 11:20 p.m., patrols conducted a motor vehicle stop on Hartford Road in the area of Union Mill Road after a report of a vehicle being parked by the intersection. Investigation revealed that the 33-year-old male driver from Mt. Laurel was under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and charged with DWI and other motor vehicle violations. His blood alcohol content reading was .18 percent. He was released to a family member.

On Feb. 23 at 9:43 p.m., patrols responded to the 3000 block of Greenwood Court for the report of a criminal mischief. The resident reports that an unknown suspect threw a small piece of concrete at her living room window causing the glass to shatter.

On Feb. 23 at 5:08 p.m., patrols responded to Target, 4 Centerton Road, for a shoplifter in custody. Investigation revealed that the 25-year-old female from Mt. Holly selected various store merchandise, put the merchandise in a shopping cart and left the store without paying $308.72. Store staff detained her until police arrived. She was arrested and charged on a summons with shoplifting. She was released pending a future court date.

On Feb. 23 at 2:17 p.m., patrols responded to the area of 1200 Nixon Drive for the report of a disorderly person. Upon patrol arrival, a 27-year-old male from Marlton was located in the parking lot. The suspect was observed to be exhibiting signs of being under the influence of drugs. It was determined that the suspect was a wanted person out of Bristol, Pa., at which time he was taken into custody. During the arrest, it was determined that the suspect had in his possession a quantity of heroin and marijuana, as well as a glass smoking pipe. The suspect was charged on a warrant with being a fugitive from justice, possession of CDS and possession of CDS paraphernalia. He was transported to an area hospital for a medical emergency before being committed to the Burlington County Jail pending a future court date.

On Feb. 22 at 9:23 a.m., a victim from the 1500 block of Coventry Way came into police headquarters to report a fraud complaint. The victim reported that she signed up through Bare International to become a secret shopper to earn money. The suspect mailed her a cashier’s check in the amount of $2498 and was told to deposit the check in her account. The suspect then directed her to purchase $400 worth of iTunes gift cards and send her the pin number of the cards. The victim stated that she would not provide the pin number until the check cleared, which it did not. The victim did an Internet search of the involved “company” and determined that it was a scam. The victim did not suffer any monetary loss at this time.

On Feb. 21 at 12:39 p.m., patrols responded to a gym on the 3900 block of Church Road for the report of a theft. The victim reported that sometime between 9:45 a.m. and 10:50 a.m., an unknown suspect entered her locker and stole credit cards and a driver license from her purse. The purse was turned over to staff after it was found in a changing room.

On Feb. 20 at 5:24 p.m., patrols responded to a business on the 6000 block of Atrium Way for a bomb threat. Staff reported that after a brief phone conversation with a disgruntled customer, he threated that there was a bomb at the location that would go off. The area was searched and no device was located.

On Feb. 20, patrols conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 as a result of an ongoing investigation that was initiated on Feb. 14. While on the stop, the occupants admitted that when they were stopped on Feb. 14, they ate marijuana and Xanax pills in an effort to not be arrested for possessing the drugs illegally. A 26-year-old female from Egg Harbor Township and 27-year-old male from Hainesport were arrested for the destruction of evidence. A search incident to arrest revealed a quantity of Xanax pills without a valid prescription. Each were charged with destruction of evidence and possession of narcotics. They were released on a summons pending a future court date.

On Feb. 20 at 11:44 a.m., patrols responded to a motel on the 600 block of Fellowship Road for a criminal mischief complaint. The manager reported that a 33-year-old female from Bridgeport Conn. was staying in one of the rooms. After checking out, staff noticed that the curtains in the room were cut. This was not the first time that the same customer cut the curtains. The motel attempted to charge the suspects credit card but the credit card on file was declined.
