BTPD apprehends residential burglar

A Camden man was taken into custody on Wednesday, Feb. 28

BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — On Wednesday, February 28, 2018, the Burlington Township Police Department arrested a 41 year old male from Camden, NJ, for burglary, robbery, theft and criminal mischief.

The man’s arrest was the product of an investigation that began earlier in the day at approximately 12:45 p.m., when Burlington Township officers responded to a house in the unit block of Prospect Avenue for the report of a residential break-in. Upon arrival, the officers discovered that the man broke into the residence, stole several items of jewelry and assaulted a neighbor while fleeing the scene. The officers were able to identify a suspect vehicle and broadcast that information to surrounding jurisdictions. A short time later, the vehicle and the suspect were located by Delanco officers in Edgewater Park, NJ. He was arrested, and the burglary proceeds were recovered from the vehicle.

After his arrest, the suspect was transported to the Burlington Township Police Department where he was processed for the charges. He was later lodged in the Burlington County Jail.
