Evesham Police investigating series of thefts from cars and lockers at the Marlton LA Fitness

Evesham Police have also released tips to help members of the public prevent becoming a victim of such thefts.

The following information is on file with the Evesham Township Police Department:

Officials with the Evesham Township Police Department say the department is investigating a series of thefts from cars and lockers at the Marlton LA Fitness, located at 1051 N. Route 73.

Since December, police report there have been 11 thefts from gym members’ lockers and eight burglaries involving vehicles that were parked outside the business.

According to police, the actors have targeted cash, credit cards, wallets and gym bags. In the majority of thefts from cars, the actors smashed out a vehicles window to gain access. Police say the total 19 thefts have resulted in thousands of dollars worth of personal property being reported stolen.

Evesham Police has been working closely with the LA Fitness management in preventing and solving these thefts and police have released the following tips to help members of the public prevent becoming a victim:

· Take in only what is absolutely needed.

· Leave valuable items at home or secure them in the trunk of a car before entering the parking lot.

· Use a personal lock to secure property in a gym locker, and don’t make it a cheap one (i.e., don’t use a $5 lock for a $500 phone).

Locals are asked to immediately report any suspicious activity to the Evesham Police. For crimes in progress, dial 911. For past tense reports or those needing a non-emergency response, call (856) 983–1111.
